Turkey’s privatisation programme announcements
Istanbul, 14 February 2012 - Deputy President of Turkey’s Privatization Administration, Mr Ahmet Aksu, has said the privatisation process for Turkey’s highways network is set to start in June. Reports suggest the two Bosphorus Bridges and the associated Istanbul ring roads will be amongst the programme of privatisation as well as the Edirne – Istanbul – Ankara Motorway and Izmir and Ankara Motorway Ring Roads. The privatisation programme is expected to attract a wide range of interest from international investors in Europe, US and the Far East. Turkey’s ongoing privatisation programme is also expected to be announced for maritime assets including Istanbul’s Galataport and Kalamis ports and Izmir’s Kruvaze and Pasaport ports as well as various other ports and marinas.
