Turkish Airlines African expansion plans
Istanbul, 17 February 2012 - Speaking at a recent conference held by the Union of European Turkish Democrats meeting in Germany, Mr Temel Kotli, Turkish Airlines General Manager, announced the company is adding 8 new flights to its African route network of 18 destinations. Kotli said . “Africa is increasingly important for Turkey and Turkish Airlines. We are aiming to become the leading carrier in the continent”. Turkish Airlines which was voted the “Best Airline in Europe” in 2011 flies to 218 global destinations with its young modern fleet of aircraft. Currently Turkish Airlines fleet has 178 aircraft with more on order to take the total up to 233 aircraft.
