Like all touristic towns on Turkey's Mediterranean coastline, Gocek's core package is sun, sea and sand, and Gocek has miles of white sandy beaches, lapped by crystal waters warmed by 300 days of sunshine per year. This is enough for some people, much the same people who will also be attracted by its proximity to Dalaman airport which is just a 15 minute drive. Of course Dalaman gives more than just one of the best served international airports in Turkey, it was ranked the number one tourist destination for Brits by ABTA in 2008, and so perfectly complements the offering of Gocek. And that is quite an offering in its own right. Gocek has a gorgeous little marina, which is not only ornamental, but welcomes thousands of yachts each year, birthing to enjoy the delights of the town. Plenty of restaurants and shops offering a wide range of cuisine are also to be found in Gocek. For the more adventurous there are Lycian tombs carved into the rock face all along the coastline away from the herds of tourists, and great days out on Gullets, as well as Kapi Creek, which is paradise on earth according to all who have enjoyed its serenity and crystal clear waters.
